NELSON Director - Dave Mcleod Dave has a New Zealand Certificate in Architectural Design and has also completed the first stage of his degree in Architecture with the Architects Education and Registration Board. He is thoroughly experienced in all aspects of architectural design, draughting and site supervision, from small residential projects through to multi-million dollar commercial and industrial projects. In a career that has taken him around the world he has gained sound skills and expertise in architectural design, draughting and site supervision of residential, commercial and industrial buildings, project management, and staff employment and supervision. Dave’s employment history has included being a Director of Wynyard McLeod and employment with Warren & Mahoney Architects where he was involved in draughting, supervision and project management of the construction of the Christchurch Casino and also site supervision of the Merivale Mall. He also has extensive experience in London and Thailand. He oversaw the production of drawings for the building of a city on the outskirts of Bangkok, overseeing the construction of 27 x 15-18 story apartment buildings, each with 1000 apartments, and was responsible for final sign-off of approximately 2500 rooms as complying and complete. Draftsperson - Shannon Watson Draftsperson - Kathryn Mead Office Manager - Alan Edwards Administration - Nicky Mcleod CHRISTCHURCH Manager -Darrel Hannon Architectural Designer and Draughts person joined the ArchitectureDM team in 2008; Darrel has a Bachelor of Building Science from the University of Victoria in Wellington. Studies included Contemporary Maori Design, Sustainable Architecture and Interior design. He is thoroughly experienced in all aspects of architectural design, draughting and site supervision from small residential projects through to large commercial and industrial projects. He has worked in the USA where he was involved in a wide range of projects including an Ecopark, a Foundation for a Sustainable Future, and American Institute of Architects award winning projects. Darrel’s employment history includes operating his own Architectural Design practice and working for Wilson and Hill Architect’s and O’Neil Architecture in Christchurch. His experience is wide and varied and he is equally at home working large projects collaborating with a team or one on one with individuals. Draftsperson -Alana Pottinger MARKETING DM - Monty McKeefry Monty was employed by Architecture DM when director Dave McLeod saw a gap in the industry for a dedicated sales and marketing professional to seek out and meet with potential clients, work with them to find out what they actually want and ensure the engaging between client and designer is seamless and stress free. He has a dynamic approach to life and work and this is shown by his determination and drive to exceed client’s expectations when designing a new home. He is creative and will help to visualize client’s dreams and bring to fruition. With 10 years experience in sales and marketing he is customer focused and works for the client. He believes that honesty and integrity are vital ingredients when working with clients to achieve their goals. He wants to build relationships that are open and long lasting so our clients come back again and again and refer us to their friends. NORTHLAND Manager - Chris Needham Architectural Designer and Draughts Person Joined the team in 2006 After leaving school, Chris completed a carpentry apprenticeship, and spent sixteen years building houses around Northland, specifically in the Paraparaumu / Waikanae area. Chris then taught himself draughting using CAD, and as a result, began a new position doing architectural draughting for a local architectural designer. Chris has continuously worked on the latest software, and produces all his work in three dimensions. Draftsperson - Rhys Coutts WELLINGTON
Manager - Dean Robb Architectural Designer and Draughts Person Joined the team in 2006 Dean started work in quantity surveying having completed most of his tertiary education in this field. His cadetship was with Mainzeal Construction, which included producing presentation work on design and build projects, and has also worked on the BNZ site in Wellington. He has worked for Durney Construction and has also worked as a carpenter/supervisor on commercial projects. Throughout his career, he has maintained an interest in architectural design. This led to Dean setting up his own design practice specialising mostly in residential development and some interior design work. He has done work for both commercial housing companies and private clients in Wellington, and he has had houses entered in the Master Builders ‘House of the Year’ awards, wining or placing in a range of categories, with one design making the National final for a multi unit development in Upper Hutt, Wellington. Draftsperson - Nico Schiavi AUCKLAND Manager - Edgar Reid Architectural Designer and Draughts Person Joined the team in 2006 Edgar has been self employed for twelve years, and has been associated with various design practices and group housing companies in Auckland. He was Draughting and Design manager for Maddren Homes (Auckland) and provided designs for their export division which included a Buddhist Temple in Korea, Heath and Fitness Spa at Kendu Beach, Noumea and Guest Accommodation Bungalows in Rarotonga. Before starting work for Architecture DM, Edgar was Senior Architectural Designer for Sovereign Homes NZ Ltd. catering to their higher end residential clients. Edgar has experience in a wide range of Draughting disciplines including survey, civil, structural and architectural. Edgar has a New Zealand Certificate in Draughting from Carrington Institute of Technology (now Unitec) Auckland. Draftsperson - Kirsty Merriman HAMILTON Manager / Draftsperson - James Cusiel James has a Diploma in Architectural Technology from Christchurch Polytechnic. James spent the next three years with Warren Architectural in Christchurch, a four man design practice specializing in residential work, draughting and gaining general experience. This was followed by two years with Architecture DM in Nelson where he broadened his experience and skills base by working on a greater range of projects, including commercial and industrial jobs, as well as continuing to fine-tune his skills on a range of residential projects. With his advanced computer skills and superior software knowledge James has proven to be a useful asset to the business as a whole and has turned into the in-house IT expert, solving technical issues up and down the country. James recently moved to Hamilton from Nelson to staff our newest branch and is now focusing on creating relationships with local businesses to create opportunities in the Hamilton and Waikato regions. QUEENSTOWN Managers - Alister Brown and Katrina Dravitzki Graduate architect’s Alister and Katrina are highly motivated about architecture, computerised design, documentation and presentation. Alister is 27 years old and has spent eight years of higher education attaining firstly a Diploma in Architectural Draughting and the National Diploma in Architectural Technology Level 5 from Otago Polytechnic. Following his studies in Otago he then attained his Bachelor of Architecture from UNITEC institute of Technology in Auckland. Katrina is 26 years old and also completed a Bachelor of Architecture from UNITEC institute of Technology. While at University they started a successful 3d visualization company 3Design Limited. They worked with a number of high profile architects in Auckland including RTA studio and Stevens Lawson Architects. After graduating Alister and Katrina worked for the New Plymouth based award winning architectural practice Architects Ian Pritchard, designing a wide range of buildings, including residential and commercial projects. In 2008 Alister and Katrina were chosen to participate as the Graduate architects in the Ultimate Mitre 10 Dream home reality TV series which has given them a national profile as successful architectural graduates. |
