PRESBYTERIAN SUPPORT, NELSON

An Arrow International project, designed and draughted by Architecture D M Nelson and completed in November 2006, this facility provides day care for dementia and non-dementia care patients as well as regional offices for the top of the South Island.  Two wings of the building provide the required separation between the two user groups, both of which utilise high level windows to provide maximum light to all areas of the building and also to heat atrium block walls as a source of passive and environmentally friendly heating.   The scale of the building has been purposely designed to reflect its suburban location and to give the patients a sense of belonging.
